The University of Georgia will begin notifying employees who are covered by the federal vaccine mandate via email today, Friday, October 29, 2021

Notifications will be made on a rolling basis as we identify covered individuals. As indicated in the October 26 Archnews“covered contractor employee” is a term that is broadly defined under the federal government’s Safer Federal Workforce Task Force Guidance (the “Federal Guidance”), and covered contractor employees are required to be vaccinated.  More information about the definition of a covered contractor employee can be found here https://coronavirus.uga.edu/executive-order/ and in the FAQs.

Please monitor your email to see if you are affected.

If you know that you meet the definition of a covered contractor employee, you do not need to wait for notification from UGA. If you are not already vaccinated, you can go ahead and schedule your vaccine appointment or seek an exemption on the basis of disability or religious belief. The University continues to strongly encourage all employees to be vaccinated.

The University Health Center is administering the COVID-19 vaccine for free to any eligible member of the UGA community over the age of 16. You may schedule a vaccine appointment here.  Alternatively, you may choose to be vaccinated by your primary care physician or any COVID-19 vaccine provider, such as a local pharmacy.
